About
Nabweru Community Initiative for Youth Empowerment Ltd (NCIYE) Nabweru Community Initiative for Youth Empowerment Ltd (NCIYE) is a registered non-governmental organization founded in 2022 and based in Nabweru Sub-county, Wakiso District, Uganda. Led by its Founder and CEO, Baguma Benson, NCIYE works to create lasting opportunity for vulnerable young people, women, and children in one of the fast-growing peri-urban communities on the edge of Kampala. Girls and young women often face added barriers, including period poverty, early school dropout, and limited access to digital opportunities. Children in vulnerable households are exposed to protection risks that can derail their education and wellbeing. NCIYE was established to respond to these challenges from within the community, with solutions shaped by the people who live there. Our Approach NCIYE believes that sustainable change comes from combining practical skills, education, protection, and community ownership. Our programming is built around five connected areas: 1. Vocational skills training. We train youth and women in marketable trades, including tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing, fashion design, ICT, and makeup artistry. These skills allow participants to earn an income, start small businesses, and support their families. Training emphasizes hands-on practice so that graduates leave ready to work or to self-employ. 2. Educati
