About
The Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF) is a woman-led, feminist, non-profit organisation based in Abuja. It was founded in 2011 to close gender gaps in governance and leadership in Nigeria, and it is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. NWTF works through advocacy, research, grant-making to women-led organisations, and training and mentoring of women leaders. Its programmes cover women's political participation, young women's leadership, preventing violence against women and girls, and disability-inclusive livelihoods. It works nationally, having sub-granted to organisations in all states of the federation, and delivers state-level projects directly or through its trusted sub-grantees. Its work is supported by funders including the European Union, the Ford Foundation, Open Society Foundations and FCDO.
