About

Soberlife Mentorship Society Trust is a nonprofit organization founded in 2021 and works across the Harare Metropolitan Province in Zimbabwe. It exists to break the interlocking cycles of Youth mortality and morbidity, drug and substance use, gender-based violence, economic exclusion, and institutional neglect that shape daily life for women and girls in the settlement, and it operates a six-pillar program covering health and wellbeing, economic empowerment, climate & environment, education, food security & nutrition, and community systems change.

Mission. Soberlife’s mission is to restore dignity, resilience, and opportunity for vulnerable communities in Zimbabwe by tackling the intertwined challenges of substance abuse, psychosocial distress, and economic exclusion. At its core, Soberlife works to empower children, youth, and families affected by addiction and poverty through mentorship, rehabilitation, and integrated development pathways. We believe that recovery is not only about overcoming substance abuse but also about creating sustainable livelihoods, strengthening mental health, and building inclusive, supportive communities. The change Soberlife is working to create is multi-layered: • Health and psychosocial wellbeing: Providing mentorship, counseling, and rehabilitation services that help individuals and families heal. • Livelihoods and resilience: Linking recovery with economic empowerment, skills training, and climate-smart community projects. • Governance and advocacy: Promoting youth-led, gender balanced leadership and pushing for policy shifts from punitive drug laws toward public health approaches. • Community transformation: Building safer, stronger neighborhoods where vulnerable groups, especially women and young people, can thrive with dignity and hope.
